Germany - May Day in Munich

by Mike Levy

How do you spend May Day? Dancing round an English maypole no doubt. But if you fancy a break from spinning round and round, get yourself off to Germany. The Maibaum fun is a great time to be in a country that throws off its winter blues big time. Bavarians usually need few excuses for having a merry old beery bash and May Day is no exception. Yes there are obligatory maypoles but these are bigger, more colourful and more spinny that you have ever seen. Expect much back slappiing, downing of beer and surfeit of sausage.
