Undiscovered Journeys

Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sarajevo

by Mike Levy

Sarajevo

Sarajevo, that archetypal cultural crossroads, is on its way back. Battered by the wars of the 1990s and scene of the terrible siege, this once great city is on the rise. It will be a name back in the public gaze once the Karadic trial gets under way. Its name will, once again, be associated with acts of hatred and sectarian violence. Yet it is a unique city where Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived in harmony for centuries. Anyone like to write about it?
